CRISTINA LATICI

Health Director, Events Director

A longtime member of NYC’s downtown dance community, Cristina studied release technique, contact improvisation, and trained extensively with Susan Klein and Barbara Mahler where she developed a deep sense of how to use her skeletal structure to move sequentially and efficiently, and to be rooted to the ground. She performed with a wide array of choreographers and performance artists and collaborated exclusively for many years with choreographers ChameckiLerner performing and teaching in the U.S. and touring throughout Brazil, Venezuela, Europe and Canada. Cristina’s dance training continues to inform her approach to parkour, and parkour continually challenges everything she ever learned in her dance training.  Cristina holds a master’s degree in Parent/Infant Development from Bank Street College of Education.  She is New York State certified in general and special education and works with children ages 3-5 who have developmental differences. Cristina works closely with families to guide them through the special education process and to assist in determining the school that can best support their child’s needs. Since joining The Movement Creative team, Cristina has coached both adults and children, and has served as Director of Events as well as Assistant Summer Camp Director.  She is currently developing curriculum for Move+ Education, The Movement Creative’s response to supporting education in the midst of the pandemic.
